I just bought this game and played it for about an hour. So far, none of the random events have occured, and I cannot build any social or industrial specialization. The tiles are blank, as if the DLC is not installed. Is anyone else having this issue?
I am having the same issue. Additionally under Game Options when starting a new game the choice to enable Random Events is greyed out.
The random events are greyed out for me, and I haven't even seen the social/industrial specialization option.

I agree on both counts. It seems like half the DLC is not implemented right. I say half because I saw the research for the extra planet types in-game. Whatever the problem is, it's messing up MP for me-as in I cannot go online because it says old version detected.

The extra planet types are definitely there; I've encountered them all in-game and they work just fine. Everything else form the DLC seems to be missing. I'm not having the multiplayer issue, though.

That's quite strange... May I ask : if the DLC were active, is there a way to deactivate them ?

Well, I can see a greyed out "random events" toggle, so that can definitely be turned off and on. I don't know about the others, but I don't see any way to turn off the new planet types (although you could just pick maps that don't include them, that does preclude the randomly-generated maps which tend to be the best ones).

Okay, thanks for the answer and precisions :) Yeah, that's sad and strange it's not one of the parameters when you want to generate a random map ! Aren't there mods disabling DLC ? (and even Titans ?)

And for the "broken" release, there is a kind of similar problem with Galactic Civilization 2 (you can see it and [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/galactic_civilizations_series/community_guideupdate]here). But well, it happens, we simply have to wait for a fix :) (and concerning SOASE, game is very well playable, so not big trouble for now).

Sins is very moddable, so I'm certain such mods exist.

Yeah, the only critical issue is those who can't access multiplayer at all. Which, at least indirectly, affects everyone who'd like to play multiplayer since it's very hard to find other people right now. Wasn't able to get a single game going over the weekend.

I'll have to take a look when I'll have some time.

Oh, I'm confused... I play only singleplayer and totally forgot this... Sorry for this :S Hope it will be fixed soon so, this way everyone will be able to enjoy it fully !
I've put a support ticket into GoG. Hopefully we will have an official answer soon.
I'm experiencing the same thing, although I wasn't aware of it until reading this post. I haven't played Sins in a long time, not since I owned the base game on Impulse way back when. I never got around to owning any of the expansion content.

I got rebellion the day it was release hear on gog and started a new game. I remember when looking through the options that the random events tab was grayed out. Other than that, I won't really be able to tell from playing the game as I haven't ever played with any of the expansions.
Thanks for letting us know. We're working on a fix and hope to have an update later this week or so.

Please feel free to submit a support ticket if you have any other issues to report.

Why would this go though Stardock support and not GOG's ? is this an issue with the GOG packaged game from Stardock or the changes made to the game by GOG to make it DRM free?

Thanks for the infos :)
A small suggestion useless if you have read all the thread, but just in case... I don't know if you intended to do so, but it could be nice to have an option menu which would permit to disable the DLC/DLC's option we want (because GOG's version install everything).
