If you like the first two Bioshock games, and also the Fallout game, then I think you're gonna like Singularity as well.
It saddens me however, that the final version of the games became almost completely different from what was shown during the development.

I followed this game intensly on Gametrailers and the developers uploaded parts of a development video diary where they talked about the game while one of the developers did a playthrough. It looked awesome, rich and vivid. While the final version is really good, it stands bleak and pale next to the development version.

Why did this happen? My guess is Raven ran out of time (pun intended) and had to scrap parts in order to beat the deadline.
At least they didn't scrap the whole game. :)

I own the game on DVD. I thought it was terrible. As you explore you keep getting blocked off from the area you just came from. This also coincides with a checkpoint. So if you still had something else to explore or upgrades to find in that area you can't even load the game to go back.

I agree with the thoughts on the checkpoints - it's a bit "console-ised" for my liking. However, I'm just getting near the end of my first play through and have to admit that I've really enjoyed it. It's a fun 8 hour romp; it has a bit of a feel of a Wolfenstein style game - quite similar to Raven's 2009 gem.
