Do you have to have mac 10.7 to play this? Why can't you play on 10.6? Also, why are intel integrated cards not supported?

For OS X, the officially stated Mac system requirements come from the Mac configurations they have in their QA labs. In other words, they've tested and verified that the game will work only on the configurations they have listed.

That's not to say that they won't work on other Macs though. System Shock 2 (which works excellently on lower-end Macs with GMA 950 graphics) is my favorite example of this.

Seeing as how (a) GOG simply uses Wineskin wrappers for their WINE-based ports, and WINE does work on 10.6, and (b) other games I've tested and played which use the Quake 2 engine from GOG (Daikatana, Kingpin: Life of Crime) work very well on Macs with the GMA 950, I'd wager that SiN Gold would work well on your Mac. Posting your actual system specs would be helpful though.

NB: I'm playing this on a 2010 11.6" MacBook Air with a 1.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo, and the game runs just fine. If it'll run on this Mac, it'll run on yours.

Okay, thanks. I just had to ask because I didn't know whether it was using Wineskin or a modified version of the original OS X version.
Oh, and I'm using a Mac Mini (forgot what year it was released) with an integrated intel gma 950 and a 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.

The "original OS X version" was actually an unofficial patch for the OS 9 release that was done by Andrew Meggs, one of the developers behind the original Mac port. It was a PPC-only binary.

Your Mac will run it just fine using Wineskin, or the WINE environment of your choice. Just be sure to use the default OpenGL renderer. If you're running into screen corruption issues, set ddr=gdi in the registry.

I believe 10.6 is no longer being officially supported from this point forward for any additions. At least I seem to remember inferring as much from a blue post somewhere.

In the case of Indie releases, I'd just go by the system requirements originally stated by the developers. For DOSBox-based releases, they'll definitely work on OS X 10.6, as Boxer supports 10.5+. Wineskin is what GOG uses for its WINE-based releases, and it supports 10.6+.

Yes, but that's not what I'm saying. I believe GOG themselves are dropping support of OS X 10.6 going forward. I expect the same thing will happen with XP later this year.
