I believe it was to update the Mac version to 64-bit DOSBox. But that's not official, so yeah it would be nice if the changelog was updated too.

(I hoped it was an update to switch from DOS version to the real SC 2000 Windows version, using Wineskin for instance)

Don't know for sure about SC 2000 since I don't own it, but a lot of DOS games were updated yesterday to allow for cloud saves. No game files were changed in those cases.
