Greetings all, I seem to have run into a rather weird bug and I really hope someone knows either a fix or a workaround for this:
I build a city (no cheats, though I did extensively prepare the map layout using the in-game map editor before starting the city) up into the in-game year 2641 and I am slowly replacing previous sections of the city with blocks of Acrologies and some supporting buildings. Current pop-count is around 985K inhabitants. My ultimate goal is to have a sustainable city that is capable of building the 300+ launch acrologies for the special launch event.
At some point, when i build a new Acrology block, something seems to go corrupt, and when I try to request information on certain buildings using the query tool, I no longer get the usual information I expect...
This is with some buildings, but not al... for example the information on the Mayor's House and on a college and on some other buildings gets corrupted, but another college elsewhere in the city might be fine and give normal information.
----------
I suck at explaining this, so let me try with some screenshots:
Before I build a new block: here is a query on my Major's house. Everything seems fine, I can see the approval rate, etc. (See attached file: SimCity2000correct.png)
----------
Now, WHILE KEEPING THE GAME PAUSED, after a build a new block: the same query on the Mayor's House is corrupted: the name is incorrect, I no longer see my approval rate or year of build, etc, and instead see basic info on land value, crime, wether it has power and water, etc... (see attached file: SimCity2000error.png)
----------
This, as far as I can see, never goes back to normal from this point on. I am unable to ever again check my approval rating.
Does anyone happen to know more about this? Maybe a way to reverse or fix this bug? I would be extremely grateful for any and all assistance offered!
I can send a safe from just before this moment with instructions on how to replicate this if required.
Extra information for completeness: I turn a block of 4 6x6 standard grid-blocks + the roads seperating those 4 blocks into one 13x13 block that contains: 1 fire station, 1 police station, 1 hospital, 1 school, 1 library, 1 museum, 1 subway station, 1 bus station, 1 water treatment, 1 water tower, 1 big park and some small parks, 4 acrologies, and 1 4x4 "interchangeable" building that can differ per block (either a college, a zoo, a stadium, a marina + some water, etc.) I have several such blocks already build without encountering this issue previously.
