MasterSeal: SOLVED FOR ME AFTER CONVERTING VIDS & ADDING SILVER.EXE TO THE DEP EXCEPTION LIST OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
VId Card: ATI Radeon 6770
Sound: the usual REALTEK onboard 7.1 HD Audio chip.
- I converted the vids and they play correctly from in the game now.
- I also added Silver.exe to the DEP exception list.
GAME RUNS FINE For now I can concur that converting the vids works as they're encoded details are a bit old which is what usually
causes them not to play in the first place so here's the converted vids for anyone that wants them.

Just OVERWRITE the old ones with these in the ..\Silver\data\intro folder
Thank you to
TIMESLIP for the fix on this. Here's his post with instructions on the DEP issue:

BTW the "you cannot post any links at the moment" is ridiculous and annoying. I'm trying to help people and it's a pain. THIS IS WHY you have to cut-paste the incomplete links I put up as this site wouldn't allow me to post 2 links or any for some reason. This needs to be changed there's just no doubt about it :)
Seeing as those files are no longer online, I converted the video files myself. Earlier, I wasn't getting any errors, but for some reason only the audio vorked in the intro video, even if I used a video player... After converting them, my video player now plays them, but now I'm getting the Access violation error that I earlier didn't get. Adding silver.exe to DEP exceptions didn't help.
Anyone got a solution for me? I'll be very disappoined if my only option is to completely remove the videos. The intro is one thing, but I want to see my cutscenes in their correct place, not have to watch them separately with a video player.
