Hi, I'm planning to buy it, but anyone could say me if there are native multilanguage support, or also a community Italian translation?

The gog version is english only :( Thats also sad for me...

I'm not certain if these language files will work with the Gog version, but from the write-up at the following site, it appears that these files (German/French) may be dropped in over the English version to give you the choice of which language you prefer.

Hope it works and good luck.

Big thanks for the link. Maybe we can't use it now, but good to know.

Edit: Btw, there is a thread about multilingual patches in the general forum. I',m sure Miaghstir will appreciate it if you post the link there. Also you will maybe find someone there who will test the patches.

you can find here an italian language pack for SMAC: http://alphacentauri2.info/downloads/?sa=view;down=26
works fine with the gog release. tested it myself.

I just tested the french files in the link and they seem to work just fine, except for the intro movie that still is in english.
No problem with the zip containing the txt files.
For the sounds, be careful because on the website french and german are mixed. I stupidly downloaded all the files in the french list and add to make a few manipulations to make it work :
- download all the files, extract the "voices-D.rar.bat.zip"
- rename the extract file so that it ends with ".bat" instead of the weird "bat.t.xt"
- edit the .bat file and replace every "voice-D" by "voice-F" (I suppose you don't have to do this if you get the right file in the first place...)
- execute the .bat file by double-clicking it
- a "voices-F.rar" appears, unzip it and you are done

Will post all in the multilingual thread later, have to play now :)

From the link posted here, you can use French texts and voices instead of English ones, but the videos stay in English (intro + projects).
I'm working from a CD French version of Alpha Centauri + Alien Crossfire to obtain French voices for the videos (demuxing, reencoding and remuxing involved, it's taking some time because I'm not mastering muxing/demuxing operations yet).

In a couple days I will be able to post a magnet link here to an archive containing everything you need to turn your English version of Alpha Centauri to a fully French one, including texts, voices AND videos!

I'll be back soon! (hopefully)
