I still have the box for Sid Meier's Aline Crossfire...

...ah nostalgia.

I'm looking at the the fold out part of the box where they show all the factions:
Manifold Usurpers
Cybernetic Consciousness
Data Angels
Nautilous Pirates
Manifold Caretakers
Free Drones
Cult of Planet

This is the original 8" x 10" box. I had the origianl box for the base game but I threw the box away because I didn't want my wife to know I'd spent $50 on the game. She ended up get me SMAX for X-Mass. I still have all the old manuals and tech tree posters from the base game and the expansion.
I will post pictures if anyone wants to see. I'll run through the bullet points on the back of the box, in case you are interested...

* Seven new playable factions - Double the gameplay of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri with seven new factions, including two warring alien factions

* Nine New Technologies - Research an expanded technology tree including new alien concepts such as Resonance combat and N-space theory.

* New Secret Projects - Discover new secret projects like Nethack Terminus for expanded espionage abilities, and the Cloudbase Academy for the ultimate air combat training.

* New Base Facilities - Optimize your colonies with new facilities such as the Brood Pit, a spawning ground for alien lifeforms that also serves as a deterrent to citizen riots.

* New weapons, armor, and special abilities - Further customize your military forces with 5 new weapon modules, 4 new armor types, and 5 new special abilities.

* Expanded storyline - Continue the story of mankind's struggle on an alien planet including the discovery of three new native lifeforms.

* Custom Faction Editor - Create your own factions for limitless variety with Alien Crossfire's new custom faction editor.

Thank you! :) Awesome pictures.
This box has been on my bookshelf for nearly 12 years now. I never got around to getting rid of it. Glad I kept it.

It sits next to my AD&D collector's edition box set that has all 9 of the SSI gold box series on a single cd.

Yup I own the boxed versions of Alpha centauri and Alien Crossfire as well. I keep all the boxes, manuals , advertisement paperwork for all my games..since about 1997. (Some of my gems are the original fallout and Fallout 2, Syatem Shock 2, Balders Gate 1 and Collectore edition of 2...have about a hundred games..Im a pack rat. Should open up my own store lol.
I just installed Alpha Centauri and the expansion from my CD's. It has a 16 bit installer so I had to do it from Safe Mode. Seems to be working well! Ill see if I can post a pic of a few games also!
Also have the Alpha Centauri prima Strat guide with the map insert intact.

I almost forgot about Imperium Galactica II (in the picture). I have that prima guide too. Most everything else, I've thrown out all but the CD and CD key.

So I take it the original box of SMAC came with a techtree poster?

yea! Imperium Galactica II is still fun to play. It is another game I had to install after going into safe mode...and if I recall I had to do something in the games options to get the sound to work but it worked fine once it was tweaked. Its often times easier just buying from GoG because then you don't have to mess around with a game to get it to work. Hopefuly they will offer IGII down the road. I am getting itchy to try Warlords III Dark Lords Rising...got it to go on XP but dont know about a 64 bit OS on Windows 7.

I have had a lot of luck getting games that hate my Windows 7 64 bit install to run in VirtualBox with Windows XP as the guest OS. VirtualBox is a free download, so if you still have Windows XP (and an activation code) you might want to try that. Bit of a pain to set up, though.

Thanks for the info rakenan! I appreciate it. I have another machine with xp on it that is in need of a video card at the moment. I was able to get Warlords to work on xp with minor tweaking.

As an added bonus, running a game in VirtualBox allows it to be, effectively windowed, even for games that do not allow a native windowed mode. A not particularly random example would be Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I run it in VirtualBox because I'm not willing to have it take over my screen. I *CAN* run it in Windows 7, I just prefer the clumsiness of VirtualBox over the clunkiness of running a 1024x768 resolution game full screen on my 1680x1050 monitor.
