You could try hotkey resolution changer, and try running at 640x480
DXWND may help. For my computer gog did a really good job and I don't need wrappers, Edit: I may have setup mouse keys and used a mouse reticle patch.
you could also try software mode.

That didn't work unfortunately. For Shogo, it resulted in the same issue. I also tried running this program for other GOG games that aren't running properly, and all of them still aren't working as intended. It has to be a Windows 11 thing for sure. Thank you for the resource, though.

Another idea, try using the original game cd or exe. You may also want to report this issue to gog. Just so you know the source code may be available. There are wide-screen and other unofficial patches, such a thread with a windows 8 patch.
Steam also has guides.
For programmers is the CD-protection/DRM removed?
