Basically, there's a review on Shogo's game page that claims going into the advanced options broke their PC install to the point it nearly couldn't be recovered. I want to know if anyone else had the same problem before I install the game myself or if that was just a one off or coincidence. Thanks in advance for answers.

There isn't anything that can break your PC in Shogo. It run flawlessly on my PC (CD version, not the GOG though, but I always patch it up to the latest). The game sometimes have problems with widescreen or ultra high resolutions but that cause no further trouble. And if you want to use those just grab a fan patch that enables it. This game is 100% safe, I swear.

Thank you. I had to wonder given that review. Must've been a one off with that user review.

You're welcome. I don't know how they ended up with such a conclusion. For a game it is extremely hard to cause damage on a hardware because if anything goes that wrong the PC automatically restart itself. Maybe a new game can overload a video card (either the GPU or the memory) but these old games can't even kill a calculator.

Well, the review seemed to say that it somehow corruped his Windows install.

Shogo can't make that happen. :)

Maybe if you install it with Virtual Machine (Win98 installed on it), but that isn't required. The game is compatible with Win7 at least.

No problem. This is my childhood favorite game, I hope you have as much fun with it as me. :)
