A bit disappointed they couldn't fund this with income from previous titles.
A little disappointed it's another Dragonfall like expansion instead of "true" Shadowrun 2.

But hey, another Dragonfall is fine. Pledged my bit.

Actually the game was funded (and in development) *before* they launched the Kickstarter, and would have been published whether they get money from KS or not.
Now they ask for more money to expand on the game they’ve already designed. You don’t give them money to ensure the game will be published, but to pay extra development time to add more features/content to the game.

The offered stretch goals mostly seem like required bug fixes and necessary additions to gameplay, to me. They've been asked for elements on their forums, from the beginning. I would have considered avoiding another campaign if it still refused to let me enter turn based mode on demand. Still didn't let me trade or pick up items with other party members. Seeing them go to kickstarter for 100,000+ to add what amounts to bug fixes has left me meh.
The good thing is, they seem to be hitting a lot of the goals, so it should be a good one.
My guess is they'll get something like 750K at least.

Maybe reworked character models or improved combat animations at 800K or 1M stretch goals.

The bad thing is, with more goals hit, more work to be done, this'll certainly slip somewhere into 2016.
Well, to be fair, if they had asked for a million, people would be all negative because they are asking too much for a company with two KS games under their belt already. Yet because they've asked for $100k, there is this grumbling about all of it being for patch fixing.

I'm sure they would have had their $100k if they opted to sell director's cut like Eidos did with DX:HR. They didn't do that, instead giving everyone who purchased Dragonfall a free copy. I'm not a fanboy, but I do believe they have earned the trust of the backers once again, especially when you take into consideration how they've handle their previous commitments and improved their game.

Overall, I'm optimistic that Hong Kong will be their best game to date. Plus, it's PC only and there will be no compromises made for handheld platforms. You can see that this is the labor of love for them, not just another product to be shipped and forgotten. We've missed that kind of behaviour for more then a decade now. If $100k helps them to keep that sort of work practice, I'm all for it.

To be honest the $100k goal was extremely modest. It seemed like an artificial way to disprove "kickstarter fatigue".
That being said I hold HBS in the highest regard due to the way they handled SRR and SRDF. And I wasn't even a backer.

I hope they get a million and more, they deserve the recognition. Plus whatever they have presented so far in KS make SR Hong Kong sound really juicy. :)
OK, they're past the 700K now, so with cyber, magic and matrix revamps this should be something fresh, not just another expansion.

1 million and there'll be an additional mini-campaign as well.
Which sounds like a DLC, free to backers (and probably comes with deluxe edition (or whatever) as well)

With 21 days left, seems a good bet a million is reached.
moar shadowrun, man. seriously. MOAR SHADOWRUN.
The two previous Shadowrun games were pretty terrific. I'm in for more. And, in Hong Kong? Sweet.

So far, the Kickstarter is looking good, and the last update posted on it was really interesting. It's all about what the game developers staff are doing. The art's coming along nicely too. I think I'm in for at least that nice Shadowrun bag. I definitely want more games like this.

Bug Fixing? Aw cmon man! Adding new features is not the same with bug fixing. That Dragonfall and Dragonfall Director's Cut were awesome. And they are going to build on that strong foundation, into a great city of Hong Kong. Calling it a potential great game would be an understatement. It's gonna be awesome!

And they have that stretch goal of $1M for a mini campaign where you will be able to take your high level character into a challenge designed only for the best runner. Knowing HBS, calling it a mini-campaign is just their modesty. They are prepared to do their best (and that means...great games) but without getting your hope high. Imagine that character you re gonna build throughout the game get into elite missions within the city of mafias and wild magic.

Backing them up with some spare money seems little compared with the game they set to offer, and they deserve any recognition for they effort.
Looks like that's that.

69 minutes to go, about 1,2m in the bag.
Every goal reached, no new goals announced.

I was a little nervous that they weren't going to hit that final goal amount. Fortunately, it got a lot of publicity internally by Kickstarter over the last couple of days and they were able to reach it. I wasn't a user of Kickstarter when they were funding the original game, so I was very happy to be able to show my support this time around. Also very pleased that they specifically listed GOG as a distributor.
