I'm at Apex rising, when you must protect the console.
First the game crashed to desktop when I casted a spell or when I was in the Matrix. Now it goes back to desktop when I try to load my game.

Anyone suffered this problem? Any solutions or do i wait for a patch?
That level is very CPU intensive. Everything runs crazy slow for me.

For the update, I had to download the regular patch, then reinstall the updated version of Dragonfall because the regular patch seemed to somewhat break it.
Yeah, I finally past it, it took numerous reloads and lots of save to make it happen; I even came to the end twice and it crashed the time it did work it was slow like crazy.

what were you running it on? was it a desktop or laptop?

Desktop. The first patch was kind of screwy, but it worked in the end. The second patch wasn't so troublesome.

I haven't had any problems with it. In fact i haven't even registered any slowdowns in the room with APEX. I presume you weren't running any other applications while playing the game so it seems weird, the game isn't that much demanding.

Hey it's clearly not just me. My theory is that the Unity engine just has something against ATI cards. Expeditions Conquistador and Blackguards run sluggish as well.

I have a Gforce card but Expeditions are much less optimalized than shadowrun so it doesn't perform all that well. But yeah, perhaps it's something to do with the cards.

Same here. I'm ... going to start a new character. I'm just a little tired of the same combat being played over. I'll go with something different this time. Office worker maybe. Hmm.
Just finished this section last night; with no PC performance problems.

The only time I've seen any performance issue is occasionally when I scroll the map the game stutters a little bit. It doesn't happen often, and when it does, it's just a slight stutter for a second or two.

I do play the game offline (meaning, the network isn't connected at all). I know the game wants to send "game metadata" out to someplace; and I usually don't give it a chance to. (Sometimes I do forget to disconnect the net, and then it gets to send its backlog - oh well).

I only mention that - in case some performance issues might be caused by the game sending it's stuff out; just as something to consider. But I admittedly don't know if that would cause any performance problems. It's just a vector to consider.
I managed to get through the mission without crashing but I did get some chuggy framedrop when I had finally saved the terminal, it dropped to almost seconds per frame territory as soon as I pushed the terminal one last time to 'confirm'.

My GPU is an ati radeon 7870

I'm curious to try it on another machine now, I found the game's interface slow and unresponsive at times.
I suffer framedrops and crashes during that mission. AMD CPU and Gforce GPU.
I've got a GeForce and I remember that mission would occasionally slow down. I think it's more to do with the vast amount of enemies that are thrown at you more than anything else.

So best way to reduce slowdowns I guess would be to kill things quicker... ;)

Having said that, I remember SR in general sometimes slows down a fair bit when it switches between the real world and the matrix, especially when the matrix is entered for the first time that level.

I remember it crashing on me as well - which was annoying considering how long the mission is - but I'm pretty sure that the last time I ran this (I guess that would be with the latest patch) I got through it straight away with no crashes.
