+1 We need more info, this can be a fake advertisement problem, for future and actual customers.
but can a player create public lobby for 2 players (so nobody else can enter)? I really want to play this game with my steam-loving friend, but i dont really understand how this cross platform multiplayer works....

No you can't. No restrictions at all. No passwords, no nothing. You can either make an invite only game, which only works via Steam or Galaxy, no crossplay here, or an open game anyone can join.

We need a password system ASAP! Also more lobby functions like search by name and sorting options!

I gotta say I feel pretty burned here. It's not DRM-free if I need Galaxy to access the full functionality of the game, and advertising steam crossplay when it's bizarrely and arbitrarily restricted like this is just nasty. On top of that, if I were to get a refund and buy on steam I'd have to eat the 20% preorder discount and lose the chainsword bonus item.

All my friends that have the game have it on Steam because they aren't chumps like me and I can't play with them, so I'm not really any better off than if I'd pirated the game (except ethically, arguably) since I'm limited to single-player anyway. This is completely fucked and if it's not rectified I am gonna take my business (which is substantial! I own 220 games on here) elsewhere for good.
How many other games have tried to pull this off?

Raise hell, since that is the only way to get shit done, but give 'em time to iron out the kinks too; the GOG / Steam crossplay was probably design change that they put in late in the system when they realized that GOG-ers would not have as many people to play with as Steam-ers.

I agree that the system needs to be able to invite across platforms, but I doubt that it is an issue due to pure neglect.
This needs attention.
Yeah its complicated to play with steam friends.
At launch yesterday i was able to join my friends game after 10 sec searching the Browserlist.

It can be better. Password and searching would be awesome ;)
My steam friend sent me an invite to his invite only game and steam showed me a message that had "-connect_galaxy_lobby=[long number here]". I was able to select a savefile and join his game by starting the GoG version from the commandline with that command appended.

It's a horrible workaround but it works. Hope they make it a bit easier soon.
Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know that we're monitoring your feedback regarding the crossplay feature and we're working closely with Flying Wild Hog on possible solutions to this very issue :)

We need a way to search for the person that we want to play with.
You think they would have tested this before releasing the game. They have been touting cross play between GOG and Steam for a while now.
If GOG team itself monitors this thread I surely want to leave a comment.

At first thank you for your job in delievering DRM-free games!

Regarding the crossplay. Certainly we have to be able to add restrictions to the lobby, at least a player count. I don't feel like playing with my steam friends along with radom strangers.

Furthermore, the game crashes when I try to access the lobby list so I have to enter my game first then wait for my friends to join.
Also, a LAN implementation would be a kind of fix (at least a workaround) for everything : mates in the same location could play without having to pass through internet latency, and for the others, just put everybody on hamachi, et voilà.
