I don't know who to blame, flying wild hog or gog galaxy? By the way, it is TOTALLY INSANE. This is the second time I've to download the entire game again. 11 GB and now other 14 GB. Are you joking me? For real?

An earlier post said that this is how Galaxy works by replacing those large installation files, so even if all the update only affects say 500 MB, if the changed files are spread over all the install chunks then it has to redownload all of them. It is completely nuts.

I had to leave it overnight for the first download, then again for the first patch and now again? My connection can cope with one such large game a month but I have already blown half my monthly allowance on this single game already and it still wants more?

I bought this on GOG to try to support this platform but I really, really, really regret I didn't get this on Steam instead where patching is saner (if a little less controllable - so there is a trade-off). For now I have cancelled the update and just have to stick with that annoying DR bug - the balancing changes less of an issue for me.
First actual purchase on GOG. Never again, Steam at least don't do "tricks" like that
Guys, galaxy simply do not work, and at this point not even sure it ever will, hope so but i don't count on it

Download the update manually and use galaxy only for the multiplayer, the last patch for this game is barely 8mb, no need to redownload gb of files

Yes 8mb, it's using the delta patching method, a few mb of compare can patch up gb of files

Download from where?
Game Backup Copy option only shows the last patch [1.1.2.0] and I can't find the current one [1.1.3.0].

As always gog curators are behind, i was intending 1.1.2.0 patch is available, the new patch will be available soon™

Considering today is Saturday, i expect Monday or so

While I am disappointed that Galaxy don't seem any better from when I last got tripped up by this (on Witcher 3) I would like to stress again that it is a trade-off to allow the "roll-backs". That's something you don't get from Steam.

I am being very negative about it at the moment because the delta basically won't be unavailable until Monday, which means no chance for me to play until next weekend. No idea why there is no delta patch on GOG, though I understand the Flying Hog guys were working on this up till past midnight on Friday.
In the changelog of Galaxy v1.1.13, there is this:
* Introducing new update mechanism which will result in smaller download and faster patching progress (currently only for some games)

Perhaps GOG/Galaxy have a delta patching system but only enabled for a small list a games ?
Well, unlike steam, gog at least gives you another option to download your games independent of their client via the gog downloader, I have plenty of manual rollback backups using this method (High HDD space usage though) And if and when the Internet gets hacked again you'll at least be able to play your games from gog, as steam **forces auto updates, so yeah, much rather use gog downloader/galaxy over steam any day!

**(Disables your game until updated)

This is fucking insane and absolutely unacceptable. Can't even play with any friends because of new patches. While they load it in minutes on steam I have to wait for 14 GB(!!) to download.
What is this shit?
Is like Star Citizen.Every patch need to download again the entire game(25GB)
But SW2 is a finished game.I can't understand why must download the entire game again.
Shit.A LOT of hours to download for my poor adsl.

This is why I uninstalled Galaxy forever last week.
As someone else stated, you can manually DL the games or patches. Galaxy is not release (or even close) ready.

DL via browser or GOG Downloader & should be fine. Patches usually take a short time after Galaxy gets them.
Only game that has done full re-DLs for me so far, was Titan Quest I think, rest have been nice small update files :D
As expected the patch is available for manual download, still galaxy problem is definitely not fixed, as it get the "patches" first and it can't run a proper update check to compare with the game version installed on the system

Just like steam do, galaxy need a file to unequivocally identify the program version and only download the updated modification accordingly

Hopefully for version 1, should be ready by 2024 i think
