I was wondering if anyone knew why this game is free on Desura. As far as I was aware, Desura was legitimate and not into "abandonware". I already bought it from GOG, and certainly don't regret my decision, I was just wondering if anyone had any answers.

Which, unless I misunderstand something does raise the question of why it isn't one of the freebis on GOG. (It would be the best freebie),

Very curious. It would absolutely be the best free game on the site. As a typical egocentric human I do have to wonder if the promo has anything to do with my question.

I don't think so, it looks like it has been open source for 3 years now.

Maybe I'll try downloading it from Desura as the version I have on GOG is unplayable in the current condition (just bought it today and the music has a loud hiss to it that I can't get fixed).

Honestly, as much as I love GOG, every bloody game I buy here has problems. :(

It's odd that GOG sells this game though it is a freebie. As of the guy who has a loud hiss, go to 7kfans.com and get the SDL patch and music that comes with it (or maybe just music?) and that should fix it.
