To my knowledge, none of those mods offer simple bugfix options. They all started as compilation mods for their respective games, and GoF for CoAS still largely is, as it never really took off like New Horizons did for the PotC game. I understand that there are some bugfix mods underneath the hood, but I suspect you'd have to really dig to locate them in the archives at PiratesAhoy (or at all, at least some of the content in GoF originated on the Russian forums over at seaward.ru). Gentlemen of Fortune 1.2 (the version I'd recommend if you're going to try it) is a bit less heavily modded than 2.0 and onward, but it does still change the game in some core ways, such as removing skill bonuses from idols and the like in favor of books, additional ships, and a lot of tweaks to balance if I'm reading Ye Olde documentation correctly.
