Hi folks,

i would love to play my old copy of Screamer Rally, but i'm running into two problems. Maybe someone of you can help me (and other people interested in the marvelous third Screamer-game) out. That it should running smoothly on modern machines with dosbox (and even 3dfx support) is proven here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix8NfrKvz-c

Here are my two problems:

1) I tested the game on a friends computer with DOSBox and the original disc inserted and it worked pretty well (without 3dfx). But is there a way of getting the game running in DOSBox without the disc inserted? I myself only own computers without hard drives and always ending up seeing the "Please insert game disc"-screen...

2) If i get the game running without the disc, how do I manage to get 3dfx support?

Thanks in advance for everything that will help me out.

Regards
Daniel

P.S.: And before someone is yelling at me for copyright reasons: I do own an original disc and not trying to run a pirated version

late reply, but you made an assumption that's holding you back

just make an iso of the real game disc then mount it in dosbox, you usually do not need physical discs except for more complex copy protection used in the decade after screamer came out

if it's like screamer 2, the music would on the disc in full uncompressed quality that could be listened to on any audio cd player

there is at least one 3dfx wrapper tool that converts 3dfx api functions into opengl or directx for use with standard/modern gpus, so you should also not be limited to the standard graphics either
