retsushi: I just bought the game, should I use the HD resolution patch?

As for @Nirth, when I'm in the setup I get a slow cursor, but I didn't play the game, only check to see if it's working

Nirth: You should definitely try the patch. It's not optimal but far better than the original resolution.

As for slow cursor, I don't know what it is but I've a feeling it's connected with Windows 7 and DirectDraw because as I said it's a common issue for me with DD games ever since I got Windows 7. One of these days I'll just have to build an older computer and throw in XP and try my luck.
Can you explain me how to install it? I downloaded the file . rar but there is no file . exe inside

Unfortunately I don't remember but maybe there are just files inside you are supposed to move. Are there no readme? Anyway I would suggest trying with ScummVM instead, it got support recently where at least it's more stable but I imagine the original resolution is kept then other than what's possible to scale with the emulator.

I transferred the file indicated in the readme and created a shortcut. Then I added that string and it actually works, but it’s not in HD and I can’t get that actual enlargement of the visual space as shown by the patch creator on his YouTube channel.
Only a stretch of normal 4:3 resolution
