Hi everyone.
Please excuse my ignorance on this, but, bar the obvious, what does the DLC Blocker Patch here on GOG do ? (It is one of the downloads for Saints Row 3).

Does it stop the program looking for DLC online somewhere ? or does it remove them ?

I have yet to use it, but my guess is that, if you just want to play the base game rather than the full package (since it auto installs the DLCs), you can install the patch, and it will make the game think that there are no DLCs installed.

I think that it just disables (by default) the Bloodsucker Pack and Unlockable Pack, two DLCs that were widely disliked by fans because they unbalance the gameplay. For example, the Unlockable Pack forces you to use "STAG Takeover Assist" to take over one neighborhood, depriving you of the chance to play those missions.

There's no disadvantage to installing the patch, because if you ever want to try one or both of those DLCs you can still enable them by editing gog.ini in the game directory. I recommend installing it.

Sounds like I don't want to install the patch as I have never played any Saints Row I might as well leave the DLCs in there. Thanks heaps for the reply and advice :)

Just to repeat: The first time you play the game you really really should disable both of those DLCs as they mess with the gameplay for first time players.

Yeah, it's like playing an RPG and have the most powerful equipment and magic available right from the beginning.

Yes but I don't want to earn things :) I prefer playing with cheats :)
