MBocking87: Is there any way to remove some/all of the DLC packs which come with Saints Row The Third?
I tried removing dlc1-3.vpp_pc from packfiles\pc\cache, but the game crashed (even if I also disabled all the DLC in gog.ini). Even if you could remove them, they're only 5% of the total install size. A lot of the DLC was built into the game from the start and only separated out for sales purposes.
At least some of the .bik files from the videos folder can be deleted, and they just won't play. If you delete main_menu_bg.bik you'll save 274MB at the cost of a plain black background for the main menu. The two logo_*.bik files play before the main menu and deleting them saves time. 01_crawl.bik is the Star Wars crawl that only plays when you start a new game. You can also save about 60 MB by compressing SaintsRowTheThird.exe and SaintsRowTheThird_DX11.exe ("compress contents to save disk space" in Explorer). Combine all these and you save, er, 0.4% of your total drive space. Better than nothing, I suppose.
