Here are some of tested and suggested mods for Sacrifice. If you have more that you'd like to share here is the exact place.
Note. It is better to test each mod with gog installer first before you add new one to this topic.

Mithras/Marduk can be unlocked as playable characters by completing the single player campaign with the following...
Marduk:
Complete campaign with Stratos, Pyro, or Charnel.
Mithras:
Complete campaign with James or Persephone.

Hey, I have the CD version of Sacrifice so how do I install it? Sadly, I cannot download from the Sacrifice downloads as I already have the game and don't really wna't another copy at this moment.

This needs to be removed from this post, but in response I'd say put the CD in and use the autorun.
But if you want it to run correctly on XP/Vista you may as well pay the 6$ to download it updated from gog.com, its well worth the price of not having any difficulties running it.

Oh come ON. Who doesn't know that? I know there are alot of noobs here, but stop showing off. Besides, many starting wizards are better than them, and they're not even MODS, so this is off topic. Fool.

The Sacrifice Source code was never released, I'm guessing, correct? I was kind of wondering if there were any graphic engine enhancements, or high-res texture packs out for it. All things considered though, for a 9 year old game it still looks great.

Would someone mind explaining how to use the extra maps in the game? I unzipped them and put them in my maps folder but I don't see how to access them.

They are for multiplayer and skirmish battles, along with the built-in maps. If you're new to the game, go to Multiplayer, select/create your wizard and select the MP mode you want to play (Local stands for skirmish).
NOTE: If you have unzipped all maps to the maps folder, it may be too much for the game engine, and then be prepared for a LONG loading time when selecting a map... if it can even handle 1100+ files, that is. If you indeed experience such a problem (maybe you won't, I haven't tried installing them all at once), uninstall Sacrifice, clean out its folder and install it again. Now you may add new maps, a few at a time.
