So, I thought of making this a stand alone topic. I tried running Sacrifice, and I knew this game has graphical glitches, but I didnt know they crashed the game on start. WheneverI try to start the single player portion of the game the screen goes blank, and freezes. I have to reboot the computer. Anyone can suggest me anything to try?

Have your tryed different compatibility settings from the shortcut propertys as well as running the game as admin if on vista/win7?
If that doesn't work could you please post your system specs and OS?
I havent tried compatibility options, but arent they usually useless? Im on XP, btw. Have an old geforce 6200 agp in this older computer. I could try in another one with a slightly newer x1950pro.

No not at all, windows 98/me compatibility is the only way I can get Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 to run on my XP machine. Another easy thing to check is sound hardware acceleration from running dxdiag.

Tried again, with win2k compatibility, didnt work. Well, it starts up the menu, i can select the controls and graphics settings and such, but when i select one of the tutorials the screen goes blank and nothing occurs. Worst of it, i cant just alt-tab and end the application with task manager, i have to reboot the damn thing. What's that thing about sound acceleration you said? Do I have to disable sound HW from dxdiag?

Yea thats exactly it, also this game was originally released for windows 98 so I would try that compatibility setting as well.

With windows 98 compatibility the game would not start at all, it would just give an error.
Not really sure then, have you contacted gog support about this?

MIght do that. Im not that interested in playing this game, im just annoyed that this game froze my computer. I'll reconsider buying more titles from gog, to only when there's a really good sale.
