Has the re-release of this game revived the online community at all?
Btw, does GoG provide you with a valid cdkey for online play? I'm not interested in Sacrifice if I cannot play online.
I can't find it now, but I was sure I saw something on in the support section about GOG working on providing unique keys to everyone and that in the short term you can request another key to allow online play. Maybe someone else can verify that?
Here's the support page about multiplayer.

I tried earlier and there were about 6 people in one of the rooms. I didn't try to join a game though so I don't know if that works. I'm not real big on playing online anyway.
I'm sure that the availability of this game on the site will have a bigger impact on the community once the site is available to the general public.
Anyway, until the online component is fixed, Sacrifice is still a great game to take out on LAN parties, and have games like Capture The Manalith on small maps ^^

I am pretty sure you need a cdkey just to join the lobby. Can you try to join a game?
Before installing the GoG version, did you have retail? Perhaps when you uninstalled the retail version it left a cdkey in your registry?

I actually did have the original retail version installed before the GOG version. I had uninstalled the CD version first but I was able to find the Serial number for the CD version still in my registry.
I removed the entire Shiny folder from the registry and I am still able to get to the lobby. There was no one there so I still haven't tried to join a game. Has anyone else experimented with it? I'd be willing to try to set up a game with a fellow GOG member to see if it does indeed stop you from playing online.
