I recently applied the 1c patch the Sacrifice. It tried going online and it stays on CONNECTING until you cancel it. Then I tried using the 1e patch. It says that it disconnects. Does anyone know why this is the case? I can only play online on IP/TCP, Hamachi and Game Ranger and 'INTERNET' don't work.

I would guess in the sacrifice options or perhaps its when you connect.
This guys post shows you which ports you need to forward.

Hopefully that will allow you to connect then use that multiplayer key to play online.

Will forwarding any ports make difference to the internet connection?

If your running a firewall it will allow the game to connect to the internet past the firewall.

It won't let me enter it. There is one already there. If put another one in, the "OK" option in blanked out (this is, options -> enter cd key).

So its letting you connect to the net now but won't let you change your cd key? Have you made sure you put it in exactly right and not getting things like zeros and O's mixed up?

Is that 1e patch official or a user made patch? GOG patches all of its games to the latest offical version so you don't need to patch the game yourself just install, add the cdkey and play. If its a unofficial 3rd party patch well that probably won't be compatible with internet play.

I got it off sacrifice.kicks-ass.net . I read a thread that said you needed it enable to play it online.

I think I found the thread you are talking about. It's not clear if the manual patch is needed for the gog version or the cd version and unfortunaly the other links the guy posted all appear to be dead now.

I think that is the patch they were talking about in the other thread. So you can either use there servers or you could use the vanilla servers.
I think you will need to reinstall, add your cdkey and maybe the patch from the thread I have just linked if you want to get on there servers rather then the offical ones and leave the manual 1e patch alone as I think thats the cd version.

Got the unofficial patch that directs to another server, and it installed somekind of virus that starts advertising stuff.Dont install it.

I have installed and tested the Steam and GOG versions of Sacrifice and I noticed that you cannot connect to the "Internet" after clicking on "MultiPlayer". They messed up the connection to the server. The official Patch 3 also does not detect installed Sacrifice for Steam or GOG (An error from Steam and GOG). There is a fix for this. All you need to do is install Patch 3.1 (this patch is the official Patch 3 and was made for the purpose of being detected by GOG and Steam, it also offers other features online for enhanced gameplay!)

Install Patch 3.1 in one the following locations depending on what Sacrifice version you are running: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Sacrifice OR C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG\Sacrifice OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Shiny\Sacrifice).

When done run the newly created "Sacrifice" icon on your desktop to play on Multiplayer/Internet (DO NOT run it from Steam as it will not work). Then simply click on "Multiplayer" then on "Internet" then go in the "Arena" room and Ta-Dah there you will see our online community! So let's play games!
