I just bought Sacred Gold on Friday. I'm having problems, though, loading it on Windows 7. The disk does not appear on the desktop and no icons appear either. I tried runing the Troubleshooter program, but nothing happens. Does anyone have anyh ideas?

What do you mean that disk does not appear? You could try the most common solutions to most Vista/Win7 problems: Run installer as administrator (right click the installer and select run as admin) and install game (you should do this with all games anyway) outside program files folder (c:\games or some such).
That didn't seem to work. The spinning circle just continues to spin and the computer doesn't do anything. Eventually, I have to run the Task Manager to get control of the "Computer" window.

Do you mean installer never finishes installing? Before or after verification? Do you even get to installation settings screen? Maybe your installer is corrupted and you need to redownload it.
The autoinstaller never appears. I opened the Computer window, went to the cd, and list the files on it, and double-clicked on the Sacredsetup file to run it. However, the spinning circle starts spinning and just continues to do so. The Computer window becomes unresponsive. The only way even to close it is to go through the Task Manager. Then a smaller window appears as asks if I want to allow "Sacredsetup" to make changes to you computer." Clicking on "yes" or "no" doesn't seem to do anything as the window dissappears and nothing happens.

Try the directions on the Sacred Gold support page to temporarily disable UAC.

And don't double click on the executable to run it - use the suggestions posted by Petrell.
Be careful about setting UAC to its lowest setting on Windows 7. It may cause some programs to not function. The default setting is recommended by Microsoft, so I'd set it to the lowest setting only as a last resort.

Shouldn't really be an issue as it only involves disabling UAC for the duration of the installation.

Enabling it may cause some programs to not function so...
I disabled the UAC for the duration of the installation and put the settings back to normal after that. The game works fine as does everything else on my computer. Thanks to everyone for the help!

I just finished installing Sacred in Windows 7. I didn't change UAC. I right-clicked the install file and ran as administrator. It took about 2 minutes for the installer to actually start, but when it did start, it went smoothly. A little patience goes a long way. ;)
