I have the dvd version of Sacred 2 Fallen Angel myself as well as the dvd of Ice & Blood (which got that activation stuff)
For a while ago i also bought the gold version here on gog (there is no option to get it for free if you already own it) at a sale (thought it was the christmas sale) . Now i have played Sacred 2 with the ice & blood expansion and it was patched to version 1.65.2. That was the latest official patch, which was then provided by deep silver. 1.65.2 was the ice & blood patch.
But i wonder now which version the gold version is here on GoG, as it isn't really clear on which version it is based on.
Is that also 1.65.2?

It's actualy 1.65.1. But before you go hunting for the patch to upgrade your game, 1.65.2 was a tiny hotfix that only affected the chat window in multiplayer games. Since the multiplayer servers have been gone for years, I assume this is why the 1.65.2 hotfix was not included.

So in other words the GOG Sacred 2 Gold can be considered fully patched.

No need for hunting as i got already the 1.65.2 patch and have said that i have played already with 1.65.2.
I know that 1.65.2 only fixed the chatwindow and nothing more. There was a huge disappointment by then over at the official forum when i got released and also on fansites.
Still, if this version is 1.65.1, then it ain't complete and it ain't fully patched. Also, for users who are interested in the CM patch they can't run it then, as the cm patch needs 1.65.2.
Anyway, thanks for the headsup. Now i know which version that of GoG is.

The CM Patch works fine with GOG's version. I have been using GOG + CM Patch since it was released on GOG, as have many other users. I haven't seen any reports of the CM Patch not working with this edition.

Regarding the "fully patched" issue, I can see you know your stuff, but for posterity I just want readers to know what the impact of the version differences are. As far as I can tell, they are non-existent except for the satisfaction of seeing the "2" at the end of the version number.

Sorry, in help topics like this I tend to write not just for the person asking for information, but also for future readers. Being myself someone who's often searching old topics for info, I hate when issues are left undetermined.

So the cm patch works with gog's version. Interesting. But it's been a while since i read stuff about the cm patch. I think it was a few versions back. Maybe they have changed some things.
