It's not; if you don't like SecuRom DRM on your computer.

carlosjuero: Sadly, all of the fun in the Sacred franchise may be at an end. Ascaron Entertainment and Studio II (A subsidiary of Ascaran that continued development on Sacred 2 when Ascaron went into Bankruptcy proceedings) have both closed their doors - their official last day of work was Friday, July 31st 2009.
The scuttlebut is that the planned expansion for S2 will be polished up by a few remaining devs, then the publishers gain full control. No idea as to what that means for the continuance of online play - or even standard play (hopefully they will have someone to release a DRM patch when their DRM Activation license expires with the provider for S2).

This exactly the problem with DRM. Are we all going to have games in a couple or three years that we cannot play because of the DRM not being revoked or interfering with some new technology that gets installed?!
DRM gripes aside, Sacred 2 is one of those games where it's all a matter of "it hits a home run with you or it strikes out", not entirely unlike Deus Ex: Invisible War. A lot of people went through that "the original was so much better because of X and Y".
Sacred 2 basically expands on the "techno-magical" stuff that was touched on in Sacred when you encountered the Ice Elves and the Seraphim Monastery. Some stuff was left undone, some stuff was OVERdone, but on the whole, I found the game quite enjoyable, and was left wanting more. The characters are designed well, there are easter eggs abound (it's a shame that the most recent patch rids the game of the Christmas Island quest, but not Christmas Island itself, even moving the port from which you depart the mainland to get to it), and I like how each character has their own unique sub-quest of "self-discovery". And I know I often tout the virtues of "story before visuals", but the visuals really are fun to look at.
So, yeah, if Deep Silver, or whomever it is that owns the franchise now, releases a DRM patch, this game isn't as mediocre as most mainstream video games magazines would have you believe, so you should really pick up a copy.

Deep Silver owns The Sacred IP now. The lead designer on Sacred 2 (I think he was the lead anyway) is the lead for Sacred 3, so that boads well for thos of us that like both of the previous games. (http://www.sacred3.org/ has info on it, FYI.)

I own the european version of Sacred 2. I'd love to get the expansion at some point too.

I call Sacred and Sacred 2 a thinking man's Dungeon Crawler. I recommend 'em both.
My brother called me yesterday from Game Xchange and he was asking me about the $5.95 games they had for the 360. They have a deal where if you buy 2 games that are $7.95 or less you get one free and he only found 2 he wanted. When he told me Sacred 2 was one they had, I jumped on it (especially since it was free). I haven't played much yet, but from what I've played it's been fun and pretty funny on some of the tombstones.

I really like the opening where you're basically an accident lol
I bought Sacred 2: Fallen Angel From Mighty Ape Online Store Last week. I got it just now and I am really peeved with the DRM limitations it has. It only gives you two activations and then I assume the game dvds will become crippleware and nothing more than a drink coasters.

Why do game Devolpers/Publishers insist on putting these limitations on games. It's insane. GOG is doing great for not doing this. I've bought more games this year from GOG than I have bought boxed games in my entire life. I was just really Disappointed as Sacred Gold is awesome I figured that the DRM on Sacred 2 would be very minimal. Boy did I guess horribly wrong grrr.

Is there any way to disable or work around the Two Computer Activation function for Sacred 2 as I feel insulted that I paid good money to have a game that can only ever run on two computers and just recently my computer crashed twice.

If that happens again with Sacred 2 installed I'll lose an Activation. There must be a patch or something that can be done about the two Computer activation limitation? Any help would be greatly Appreciated.
if ou buy a horse you crash!
I certainly thinks it's fun but this is a game you should play in multiplayer at least if you're older and probably alread have played these types of games before unless you're sucked in by the campaign. It's quite demanding, graphically, but otherwise a decent action RPG. :)

I really liked Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.

I should've bought Sacred 2: Gold Edition [UK Edition in a Retail Box] from Gogamer when I had the chance, when they were still in business.

I wish CDV and Deep Silver would get the distribution rights situation cleared-up in the USA, so we can have Sacred 2: Gold Edition released here!

If only Deep Silver somehow could and would get the USA rights to Sacred 2 games, this issue would be resolved!

If only GOG would step in and contact both CDV and Deep Silver and get the issue w/ the two companies cleared-up. I'd love to see Sacred 2: Gold Edition wind-up here on GOG - especially without DRM!!!

@GOG - Are you reading this? :oP

I'm still mildly upset that we in the US never got Ice & Blood. Sure, we could order one from overseas, but we'd also have to order the UK version of the regular game.

Or, you could try and find UK edition of Sacred 2: Gold Edition [which contains both UK versions of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel + Sacred 2: Ice & Blood together].

Trying to mix USA copy of S2: Fallen Angel and UK version of S2: Ice & Blood looks like a royal pain-in-the-neck, from one thread on the official Sacred forums. It can be done - but, I'd rather avoid it.

The real problem is currently trying to find UK copies of...
A. both S2: FA + Ice and Blood OR
B. just flat-out finding Sacred 2: Gold.

Sacred 2 Gold would probably sell like hotcakes on GOG. I hope they're able to get it someday. It really is an excellent game.

I really would love to see GOG get Sacred 2: Gold, as well.
I really hope they can iron out the USA distribution issues w/ CDV and Deep Silver, as well.
I loved Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, so since we didn't get Ice & Blood here in the USA, I'd love to see Sacred 2: Gold come here.

EDIT:
I've added Sacred 2: Gold Edition to the GOG wishlist,
Please, everybody - vote it UP! :D

I used to say no, but I got back into the game again a few months before the online servers were shut down. With the Community Patch, the game offers even more content.

There is some tweaking I found on the Steam forums that seems to have finally brought stability of the game for Windows 7.

Awesome! :D
And even more reason we, the gamers, should push to get Sacred 2: Gold on GOG.
Especially, since GOG games = DRM-FREE!

BTW - how is the Ice and Blood expansion content?
