Hi all. For some reason I cant seem to cast petrication on any of my opponents. Is there some sort of trick to it?? Is there opponents who are imune to it?? I click on it and my battlemage does nothing. Weird huh. Any ideas??

Are you clicking on the "Petrification" icon? That will only select it. You need to First click to select it, or hit the quick-key (magic should be 6 to 9 + 0), then right-click on your enemy.

Yes I have clicked on the petrification icon on the bottom right hand of the screen and then I right click on the enemy but he just stands there like a stuffed chicken (lol) and dose nothing lol. Any ideas?
Petrification only works on enemies within a certain level range of your spell. If your trying to cast level 1 petrification on an level 30 enemy it won't work. Depending on your spell level try the spell out on something that is equal or lower level and see if that allows you to cast it. I think it works on monsters slightly higher then your level of spell but I can't remember the level differences.
I have a very similar problem to the OP, with my Seraph character I can no longer cast any 'right click' spells\feats or even pick up objects from the ground.
Not sure what's going on, but right click hasn't been un-mapped - my char just stands there. I can only do the basic left click attacks. This is making the game somewhat difficult, I can tell you!
I haven't played this in a while, but when I did, I found that I had to be very careful to click at the base of an enemy and not at its head. If you click at its head, what can happen is that the sprite (what you see of something in a game, the image) is where you clicked, but the object (the thing itself with all the programming and code) is not there. If you click closer to its feet, the spell is more likely to work.
As I recall you need at least a fifth of your enemies' level to make it work. If you meet an enmy at lvl 16 and your Petrification spell under lvl 3 it will be useless. I think it's a third when it comes to bosses and perhaps players. This is to keep you eating runes to balance gameplay.

A tips is though to find a good weapon with petrification levels and then socket it with petrify rings or amulets (or runes) instead of eating since eating a rune is always permanent and regeneration time can become an issue.
