Because I'm running Windows 8.1, and experienced graphical issues with Rune Classic, I decided to install Rune Gold instead of Rune Classic. With the enhanced UTGLR renderer, it works fine.

However, upon closer investigation, Rune Gold doesn't appear to have any of the expansion content (30+ new multiplayer maps, 2 new game modes), and attempting to join most servers gives an error about not having Halls of Valhalla. The release notes included are also only for the original game, and mention nothing about Gold or Halls of Valhalla.

Is this really Rune Gold? I thought it was supposed to include the expansion.

I know it is supposed to, but none of the new HoV gametypes or maps are there. Only the stock maps and modes are available.

Rune Classic appears to contain all of the HoV content, but the Rune Gold that I installed from here doesn't. Like I said, joining servers complains about not having HoV, and there are only a few maps, rather than the 33 that are supposed to be there with the expansion.

Probably the best evidence that the GoG version of Rune Gold doesn't include the expansion is that the file HallsofValhalla.u is not in the System folder of Rune Gold, while it is there in Rune Classic.

My point is that the Rune Gold available for download as an extra here on GoG is not really Rune Gold, but the original Rune only. It may have a partial install of HoV or something, as the intro video says "Halls of Valhalla", but the maps, gamemodes, and server compatibility is not there.

I did get the GOG Rune gold & aside from the "Halls of Valhalla" Starting animation there doesn't seem to any Valhallian extras in it for me either
