I keep getting the same RCT.exe cannot be started Error Message. How do I fix this? I dont want to have to install the game every time I want to play it.
It will not start in window 7 64, tried run as adm and turned off user controls still can not start the downloaded file??
Had the same problem when I tried to run the game from the desktop shortcut or Start menu. What helped in my case was running RCT.exe in the GOG Games folder.

I also found this to fix my problems. Is there any particular reason why the GOGLauncher would be needed to start the executable versus just using RCT.exe?
I had to go to DEP (Data Execution Prevention) and grant an exception for the game and it worked fine. In case you don't know how to do this:

To add a program to the DEP Exception List
1.) Open "Control Panel"
2.) Click on "System and Maintenance"
3.) Click on "System"
4.) On the left side click on "Advanced System Settings"
you will be asked for permission to continue, click continue
5.) Click on the Advanced tab and then on "Settings" in the Performance area
6.) Click on the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) tab
7.) Put a tick in the little circle next to "Turn on DEP for all programs and services
except those I select" and click on the "ADD" button and
browse for and click on the .exe file for the game, then click "Open" now click "Apply" then "OK"
and close all open windows and your done.

I've tried the DEP Exception List just now. MY GAME still does not work! I am running on a Windows Vista 32 bit laptop. (yes i already know that that might not be good for the game. it's *all* i have)

If you can't get RRT and RRT2 to work, try putting the compatibility to Windows 95. I tried XP and it crashed, but when I just tried 95, it worked to my surprise.

Windows 95/98 compatibility made the game start, but it would crash as soon as I wanted to load or save. DEP Exception list method makes the game work even without compatibility mode! I recommend disabling visual themes in the compatibility tab so the load/save windows are displayed correctly (Windows 7 64bit).

I guess we would have a lot less trouble with this game if it used its own save/load window and not a system window.
My Game keeps on telling me that "unable to initialize Graphics installation or something like that
Did you try anything from this thread?
This has fixed my issue where the game would freeze every 8 seconds or so, and also solved some graphical issues upon startup!! EXCELLENT WORK! (WIN 10 64bit)
