Three days ago, I have re-purchased RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum from here when it was on sale, and I played it for a little bit.

However, after a while without playing it, the game doesn't seem to run at all. I checked the task manager, and after I double-clicked the desktop shortcut and the icon, within a few seconds, it stops without any error messages.

I have searched for any cases that are similar to what I have, but I didn't find any answer to it.

I've tried everything (running as Administrator, compatibility mode, etc.), and it doesn't seem to help. The only solution is by uninstalling and re-installing it, but it would happen again after a while.

System Specs (just in case):
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
RAM: 8 GB
Processor: AMD A6-3620 APU 2.20 GHz
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 series

Hmm, that's weird.

Continue running it as Administrator (right-click the game's shortcut => Run as ..) and make sure DirectX 9 is properly installed:

Okay, yesterday, I have installed Direct X End-User Runtimes and it worked until now. A few hours ago today, it worked, but now the problem I have came back.

Also, even if I run the game as administrator, the same problem has occurred. :(

Maybe it's a problem with Window's Data Execution Prevention (DEP). Try adding the game to the exception list. See here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-Data-Execution-Prevention-settings?SignedIn=1

Don't install the program into \Program Files (x86) but into a custom directory like C:\GOG-Games\

Disable all anti-virus software and security suits to check if one of those prevents the program start (go offline before, if you feel unsafe).
