I can't seem to get this to work. I copied the two directories into my installation folder...and...nothing happens.

I have Win7-32 Bit if that matters. It's extremely possible I'm just completely missing something...

EDIT: Never mind. I'm an idiot. Works great :D

OMG this work THX MAN

Earlier i have "Unable to Initialize Graphics System" on Vista, but this help BIG THX
I'm having the same problems as an earlier poster. My mouse clicks are registering about half an inch too low, and there isn't a yoffest value in the ddhack.ini file. Any suggestions?
Wow! I came in here hoping against hope that there might be a thread saying if the GoG copy was modified to allow modern resolutions or run in a window, and I found this instead! Thanks, Toad_King!

Incidentally, I don't think you need to do anything with the ddhack.ini file; the pointer registration just bugs out whenever you change the resolution and makes you restart the game to correct it.
I cant get this to work, the game is still fullscreen :(

ive copied the files into the installation folder and tried running it as admin and compability mode to Windows XP (SP3)

but no luck so far

Im using win7 64bit
Okay, I'm back and now I really do have a problem. I just got a new computer. It has Windows 7 - 64bit. I've done exactly what I did before and now I cannot get this hack to work at all.
Nothing for me here either. I'm running Vista-64 Ultimate. All I get is a black screen that flashes. I have to alt-tab out, and then open task manager to close the program. After that I make whatever changes I need to make (compatibility mode, etc.) and try again. So far, to no avail.
I bought rct 2 triple thrill pack from GOG, then found your hack about the windowed mode, extracted everything from the rar to the root of rct2 triple thrill, and it would only open rct2 in fullscreen mode, I run win7 pro 64bit, with 2 monitors. And I see that several other 64bit users are having the same issue, would it be because this hack/mod does not run well in 64 bit environment?

Alright scratch that. I got it to work after adding in your debug one.

A million thanks, +9001 internets, etc. The reason I love this is because the Steam overlay does not always work while playing RCT2. Also, it makes it easier to play during class without getting caught! ;)
To the people having issues:

* Make sure you're extracting the files to the folder with RCT2.EXE in it.

* Make sure you have the VS 2010 Redistributable (x86) installed. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328 (INSTALL THIS EVEN IF YOU HAVE 64-BIT WINDOWS!)

* Try running the game in Windows 95 compatibility mode. Also check the disable visual themes box if you can't get the load/save dialog to open.

Hey! Just found this, sounds great!

The game seems to open fine into windowed mode but when I click the button to load a saved game it just crashes to desktop. Anyone else had this problem?

I'm running windows 7 64 bit with win95 compatibility mode and disable visual themes ticked as suggested above.

The hack is working great. Thank you! Is there any way to resize the window?

You should be able to do it from the game options. I used to have issues with trying to change the resolution crashing the game though. If that happens, just rename the file ddraw.dll to something else, start the game (with the hack now disabled) and change the resolution normally, then exit and rename the file back to ddraw.dll. You should now have your new resolution in windowed mode.
I've installed it as specified and copied the ini file as specified. Am I supposed to have a ddrawl.dll in my install directory? I did a install from the GOG installer and the only dll in the directory is the goggame.dll.

You extract everything from the zip file into game directory. (You did extract the zip file right?)
