I am running it on Windows 7 64bit through bootcamp.

The game starts off fine but after a couple of minutes into playing the game freezes and I am forced to restart my computer. Any suggestions?
Are you running it from Launcher.exe or RCT.exe?
-Try using the other one, Launcher kills the explorer task which should provide stability unless your machine that runs any processes in the background that will hang if it isn't running

Are you running full screen or windowed?
-Try using the other method, it may be an application focus issue, windowed is a bit more robust

Is the music/sound still playing when it freezes?
Can you alt-tab to other apps or the desktop?
Can you summon Task Manager with ctrl-alt-del?
-These help determine the nature and severity of the system hang

i have the same problem... and it freezes the computer completely, so that u can only use the PWR/reset button.

edit: there is no sound either

Solution: i just set the compatibility to XP: SP3 on the RCT.exe nad ran that.. now it works fine :)

Right-click, Properties on the "RCT.exe" where you installed the game(ie. D:\RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe/)

click on the pane 'compatibility'

activate compatibility mode and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

hope it helps :)

I tried all kinda of compatibility modes, on both the Launcher and RCT.exe and it would still freeze randomly on Win7 64bit, forcing me to reboot the computer.

In the end I just decided to install XP into VMware Player and now I'm playing it with no problems in a Virtual Machine. :)

I am getting a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Does this version of windows support the above described compatibility mode?

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bits and I can run the game without having to add any compatibility mode fix. I also managed to make it work windowed and full screen without any problem. The game is best run in Windows XP but still works fine on 7.

I have 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate, i tried almost all the compatibility modes and i disable visual themes and Disable desktop composition and i tried "Run as Admin" mode too. So please someone help me
