Tells me to reinstall the game, which I've done twice. Would I need to download additional files to get this to run?

Are you using Galaxy? That I don't have any experience with. But if you go to your account and look for the game then the installer will be a single executable you can download and run.
And if it's RCT2, which is a bit temperamental on modern systems, then you can try running with openrct2 which seems to fix a lot of issues and include a lot of improvements to the game, like higher resolutions and the option to change between ride fees and park entrance fees on each level.
