Who's ready for some new River City Girls 2 info? First up, we have an official reveal of two new playable characters joining the existing cast: Surprise! It's Marian (from the Double Dragon series) and Provie (from River City Ransom Underground). Bet you'd never have guessed!

An update from their FB page:


Lastly, some familiar foes return in River City Girls 2: the (other) Dragon Twins, Ryuichi and Ryuji! Longtime fans may remember them from River City Ransom and other series entries; in RCG2, they act as bodyguards for one of the game's main villains.

Got some more deets from the FB page:

- set to release next year
- number of players TBD
- will have online co-op
- Megan McDuffee is doing music for the game
- character specific dialogue
- will get a physical release via Limited Run Games

From the later screen shots, it looks like they might be aiming for 4-player.

I bet it's only online co-op for Steam. ;_; I wanted it on GoG because I got the first one here...

<3 Mega McDuffee. Her sound track and vocals really elevated the experience of the first game for me.

Seems like it's not on EGS either, so maybe they just can't be bothered to get the multiplayer working anywhere but Steam. I'd quite happily buy a version without multiplayer (hopefully a bit cheaper) if that's what it took to get it on GoG. =-\ I *HATE* having a series split between platforms...

I have to wonder why they're doing this. It's not like WayForward doesn't already have a ton of games here, or that we don't already have River City games here. Perhaps this is just another case of "We're going to get what we can on Steam before moving on to the rest of the platforms."
