Does Risen have a windowed mode that works on Windows 7?
high rated
Risen does not have an in-game option for windowed mode. However, window mode can be enabled by editing a config file.

1. Go to the folder: \Risen\data\ini
2. Open the file ConfigDefault.xml in a text editor (e.g. notepad)
3. Find the following:

</Cache>
<Window
AdapterNumber="0"
Bottom="768"
CaptureCursor="true"
Center="false"
FullScreen="true"
Left="0"
Name="RISEN"
RefreshRate="0"
Right="1024"
Top="0"

4. Change the fullscreen to False.

You've got to be fucking kidding!?

I've been working on Risen for years. I even wrote a script that would switch it into windowed mode right after being started. It never work that well and constantly pisses me off. Now you're telling me it's simply in ConfigDefault.xml?!

God damn it aka thank you.
I set fullscreen="false" and that made the windowed mode work! But is there a way to fix the cursor issue? I'm seeing 2 cursors at once when playing the game, and when the player is walking around the cursor is acting weird.

Update:
It looks like the white Windows cursor is supposed to be hidden when the player is moving around. Is there a way I can hide it in the game?
