This just will not run, all I get is a "Risen" logo appear in the centre of my screen, then a blank black screen. Just in case this was a game that's slow to load I left the computer alone for over 45 minutes..... the blank black screen was still there..... so it's not looking like this is working at all - I'm pretty sure it's not just Windows 8.1 that's the issue.

I've put a support ticket in, but just in case they can't offer any helpful advice, I'll ask here as well if anyone knows whats going wrong here?

I don't know what's wrong, but that is not normal. Risen is not a slow-loading game from my experience, even going back to when I first played it on XP.

Same problem here too. Load the game from the shortcut on the desktop, black screen appears, after 20 seconds I hear music and a faded Deep Silver logo starts to appear then hangs. If I ALT+TAB to desktop then ALT+TAB back into the game, the main menu screen has loaded but the mouse hangs instantly.

Is there a fix for this?
