Is anyone using this?
I bought the game last Friday, installed it and had a crash at some point. The game was still maximized (game stood still with a windows error popup on the desktop behind it). Alt+TAB didn't work either, when I started the task manager via ctrl+alt+del, I could "kill tree" the executable and get back to the desktop... There was no entry in event log, other than stopped working I think.
People on the internet were talking about this LAA flag and other tweaks to make the game more stable. After some research, I found this patch tool for 32bit binaries to enable them using up to 4GB of memory in Windows 64bit.
Following the instructions, there was no crash all weekend without reinstall.
Is anyone else using it and can confirm the result?
I'll not post a link straight away, just asking if this is something useful first.
Some more info:
On 64-bit Microsoft Windows, processes running 32-bit executables that were linked with the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE:YES option have access to 4 GiB of virtual address space
