So I finished the game last night. At the beginning of Chapter 4, when the Inquisitor decides to tell the Inquisition to kill you, I tried to run away and ended up stuck in conversation with Ursegor. I didn't want to kill the humans (not enough of them on the island as it is!) so I ran to the rune and left.

Later, when I returned decked out with the Titan Lord's armor, I found an interesting scene - the Inquisitor was fighting the members of the Inquisition! At first I thought there might be a story reason (maybe they changed sides?) but as I got closer and they attacked me, I realized that they were essentially berserked. I couldn't damage the Inquisitor at that point, and neither could they, so I guess I could have sat back and watch as he beat them to a pulp.

Anyways, fun game. The final boss wasn't exactly imaginative but it was fine.

Older thread I know, but I loved glitching the AI in the Gothic or Risen games. Triggering fights between people of the same faction was always one of the funniest moments, especially if you could trigger it with the leaders and minions. The best was if the "murder" response was also triggered too and they'd start executing each other. Love the Gothic style system. Wish there was more like it.

Ha, the closest I can think of is Oblivion / Fallout 3 where if someone tries to steal something, they are immediately attacked and killed. No arrest, none of that.

Looking at starting up Risen 2 soon, would you say that it has similar AI?

I'd say it has similar AI, yes. The smaller islands and towns probably had less chances for mischief than the larger urban areas of previous games but it's still there. ;)
