As the game ends on a cliffhanger (during the credits where the HUNT enter El Oscuro's portal) , that implies a ROTT 2 will come out sometime. When will Interceptor/Slipgate make and release one, and will there also be an "Extreme ROTT 2013" expansion pack too to help pass the time?

Perhaps the sequel will be in El Oscuro's homeworld/dimension? Will it have the same kind of Sonic (2006)/Shadow the Hedgehog features like the life rings and coins, springs, ROTT traps etc and some new stuff as well?

Considering that ROTT 13 was a failure and that Interceptor has largely "become" "3D Realms"
There likely wont be a sequel.

If there is one, I hope its better then RoTT 13 was.

Wait what?

ROTT 2013 was a failure? I never knew that, I thought everyone loved it.

Was it a failure in the same reasons as System Shock 1 and 2 back in the day then; received well by everyone despite any flaws but sold badly?

I dont like RoTT 2013 very much, while has some great things, the lazy design in some parts and the excuses by the developers about why certian things were broken, the game didnt sell well, at all.

The only things I don't like about ROTT 2013 are the fact that both the awesome new music and just as awesome classic music are hard to hear over the rest of the game, the difficulty (sometimes), the broken Vomitorium level, at least on newer builds of the GOG version, the now fixed bugs that quickloading used to cause such as GADs stopping in midair or level details not loading right, and the fact that not all the levels were remade in each episode, including some of my old favourites like Two Key Return, Rocky Plateau and Canyon Chase.

And that last one is rather funny because I played 2013 first and Dark War afterward and thought they were both great.

Other than those flaws with 2013, I loved the game very much, especially the Sonic esque elements in an FPS, much like Shadow the Hedgehog (my favourtie Sonic game besides 2006 and SA2 Dreamcast) and the platforming, though admittedly the jumping physics in ROTT 2013 took some getting used to compared to Half Life, Halo and Duke Nukem 3D.

Just a question as I'm curious; you aren't Joseph Collins are you? (i.e the guy who trolls Andrew Hulshult on almost every single video of his ROTT 2013 music)

1. for me its alot of the art and designs of RoTT 2013, just does not make it good to me at all.
2. I find the features like ADS and Reloading to be stupid, KISS principle after all, parody is good and all, but its implemented in such a fucking broken manner its annoying, and still causes issues for me to this day.
3. The behavior of the devs in steamchat about these and other issues was annoying, nothing but excuses and shifting the blame.

4. No, No I am not, Andrew Hulshult's OST was one of the few brightspots on RoTT 2013 for me, he does awesome music.

If you want me to discuss this in depth, you will have to add me on chat as a friend as my chat is set to friends only to prevent spam.

Thank you for the information. I never saw the dev chat on steam as I got the GOG version first so I wouldn't know.

And yeah, the MP40's iron sights are indeed awful, and only really work OK with the bazooka, even then at extreme range only.

Besides, the Heat Seeker and Firebomb are better help for those situations too.

It wasn´t a failure. Like most games, some people love, others not so much
I payed for it and it was very fun, I enjoyed every minute of it.

I had no problems with level design, it is a game that emulates 90s feel...

Same here. The issues with the vomitorium are due to fake difficulty and the slide bugging out if V-sync isn't on. (weird I know) The other levels are hard but beatable. I'm yet to do a crazy man run though.
