It just came out but already I have found something which I don't understand.
After setting up my video settings in the launcher and starting the game, the settings are gone again.
If I return to the launcher settings I see the old settings again.

Can somebody confirm that?

At least for me it works now. I took me a couple of retries. 3 or 4 times it was reset to default but now it seems to stay.
Maybe I just made the mistake to not "accept settings" and didn't realize it. :/

Have you installed it in Program Files? That can create that sort of problem sometimes...

and i have several graphics glitches and i can't see any videos, the screen stays black. i can just hear, that there's a video.
and when flashes appear, i see white (horizontal) stripes on the screen.
system: windows 7, geforce gtx 275, intel xeon quadcore cpu, 6gb ram

I installed mine into "C:\Games" and it works for me. Try that?

i don't know, what i did, but it seems to work properly now.
the settings seem to be stored by now and i can also see the videos when the game starts.
the only remaining issue is this flash-lightning in which causes white horizontal stripes.

A main cause of the video settings resetting has to do with the "Use Detail Maps" option. It's blank, but if clicked on it will wipe out any settings you changed after you hit accept.

I think a few times my settings reset anyway's, but the "Use Detail Maps" option almost always resets everything you changed.

Turn on vsync. I was getting horizontal lines when the lightning flashed at the main menu display, and it appeared to be screen tearing. Turning on vsync fixed it for me.

As for resetting video settings, I've been getting the same (and I have the game on Steam, not GOG), but after setting them, going into game, quitting, restarting the game and setting them up again, the settings did then hold (took about two or three times to get them to hold).

What I've found is that if I hit apply settings and then close the launcher, the settings save every time.
