Hi everyone. I've been having a few issues with DOSbox, and I was hoping that some folks around here might have better experience with it than myself.
I'm running ROTT in the latest version of DOSBox, and would prefer to keep it in DOSBox than use a source port. The issue I'm having is with scalers and window size. If I run without a scaler, or if I run with 'normal' iterations of the scaler, windowed and fullscreen size looks peachy - Particularly when I set my resolution in the DOSBox.conf file. To be clear: I HAVE set my windowed and fullscreen resolutions in the DOXBox.conf file.
Unfortunately, this looks terrible on my monitor. The enemies at moderate to long range look like incomprehensible jumbles that blur into the background. I've found that using the 'superx2sai' scaler makes things look much, much nicer - But unfortunately this scaler seems to limit my game to a painfully small window. Even in fullscreen mode, about 1/2 the screen is used, and the rest is a back border. Oddly, the window size is fine at the prompt screen, and initially when loading, but once the Apogee logo spins up, the window is reduced to a pitfully small size.
Is there a way to use the fancier scaler without ROTT reducing the window/scree size? Thanks for any help!
