I'm curious how GOG is distributing ROTT to be vista capable? I can only assume it's with some DOSBox, but there is of course also the winrott ports and all that. If it's some sort of special deal, is there any kind of netcode added? I would absolutely love to be able to play ROTT over the 'net with my buddies. Much fun was to be had with this game in multiplayer back in the serial connection days!

AFAIK GOG is distributing ROTT with dosbox, like all the dos games in GOG's catalog. You can play ROTT online with this version GOG is selling, just setup your netgame with by enabling the IPX feature in dosbox and then configure and launch the netgame with the setup.exe from the original ROTT game.
Can you link to a site that might explain how to do that what you just said DRMless?
The answer post in this thread works for all dosbox games. : )
