I have a problem..yes I own loads of games here on gog but for the first time I have actually been given a gog game...Rise of the Triad 2013.

I just found out theres a new patch but theres no way i can get it.....So i have a huge problem now...i was given a fully legal bona fide copy but because I was given it by a friend and it's not on my personal gog account I can't download the patch.
I've looked for a download mirror online somewhere but cant find one....can someone help me on this or point me in the right direction (or a download link maybe)

Like i said earlier, I own a bona fide legal copy of the Gog version....just want to update it.
There must be a way surely

Thanks in advance....

(oh by the way..the game itself tells me there's an update available but the update button in the middle does nothing)

PS: Ive been playing the single player...i saw theres an option to register online in-game..if I do that will the game Auto update? (or is that wishful thining)

This question / problem has been solved by Gydionimage
Okay ive been giving this game a first run through and something is very wrong. I use a high end gaming rig and the game ran terribly...choppy frame rate, stuttering audio.
I then took all of the post processing away and ran it at its lowest settings to see if the problems went away.... and no change.

Is this what the patch was supposed to fix? Ive uninstalled it...unless the patch fixes these problems it's almost unplayable for me in its present state. (i had somehow pictured a smooth, fast Quake Arena type experience in my head)

If the 1.1 patch makes the game run smooth then im interested, otherwise its not worth the time (and besides that I have a copy of Shadow Warrior 2013 waiting) I wanted to play ROTT first cause i thought the two games would compliment each other.....

Still..if someone can help me out with the 1.1 patch download im still willing to give ROTT a second chance. Not willing to play it in its present condition unless the patch fixes it.

Thanks again..and please still let me know if someone can help me with the 1.1 patch.
I know I keep posting to my own thread but I just found out that everything i described is being experienced by everyone who plays the game....It's broken. The fix patch alone is over 2 gigs. After an initial wave of excitement it seems disappointed players are abandoning this game even after theyve patched it.....it also means that players like me who have a legitimate, legal copy of the game are also left with no way to even patch it becasue the patch can only be downloaded through a personal steam or a personal gog account......there's nowhere else you can download it...and ive looked really hard.

So im screwed. I kind of understand why i was given it now.

It breaks my heart to say this (cause i really was looking forward to it) but my advice is to avoid ROTT at all costs.
(dammit....i own the original on gog and played the hell out of it....the new one was supposed to rock)

Most of what you said got fixed for me after the patch, and it's not a patch, it's a whole new install package.

There is a 'gift' function on GOG that I believe fully attaches the game to the recipient's account. So I don't see how the copy you were 'given' would be legitimate.

Diferent situation.
A buddy of mine downloaded a copy for me from his Gog account. Which is still fully legal and even one of gog's selling points. the idea was to have a few friends play online. So yeah..my copy is still fully legal....so you can see my problem.

Oh and Baggins...go screw yourself buddy. Why reply to a thread asking for help just to be a troll (or a hobbit in your case) and insult the guys asking for help?

No. Not even a little bit. I will assume this is actual ignorance on your part though: 9. Can I install one game both on my laptop and desktop computer at home?

9. Can I install one game both on my laptop and desktop computer at home?
Yes. We do not limit the number of installations or reinstallations, as long as you install your purchased games on computers in your household. So yeah, if you've got a render-farm in the basement, you might actually break the world record for the number of legal Fallout installations in one household. However, if you think about installing your game on a friend's machine or sharing it with others then please don't do it, okay?
Kindly uninstall the game or better yet buy it from GOG yourself.

Interesting..good to know...it seems i was misinformed. Was told that it was okay to share games on gog with people you wish to play it with.....

If I feel like giving ROTT a try I will buy it through Steam or GoG in that case. It also explains my problems.

Cheers for that..ive marked you as the solution.
The point to the protest to much is, a reference to a scene in Hamlet.

But the point was, you made so many comments about it being 'legal', that as both Lucentv, and Gydion also noticed it sounded suspicious, and quite the opposite of being legal.

But glad to hear you will make amends and actually buy a copy for yourself.

Ha ha....well yeah I think everyone knows that..it's right up there with 'to be or not to be', the history lesson is not necessary but thanks. (Personally I prefer Othello or Titus Andronicus to Hamlet)

I did go ahead and get a full copy. Patched it to 1.1 and sadly I can confirm that while the issues got better, they were still there. Without wishing to be a troll about it I can honestly say that I gave this game a real try and it's just not a good game. (i ran it on a rig with a 1gb nvidia geforce vid card which can run anything out there)

If Anyone wants to play a modern game with a fast twitch old school feel im sorry to say that id tell them not to buy this one. Try one of these instead.

1. Painkiller series
2. Hard Reset
3. Shadow Warrior 2013.

They are supposed to come out with more patches later on. Hopefully they fix all the problems.

It doesn't work perfectly on my system either, but it was 'better' than the initial release for me at least.

Well fingers crossed. I'm not too bummed about it....honestly i have too many games to play and get through as it is....I go through phases of buying loads of games and then not having enough time to play them all...So, switching my focus to Shadow Warrior for now :-) if I see online that more patches come out I may give ROTT a try again, who knows.

Anyway thanks for the input....Being a New Zealander I have met more than a few hobbits such as yourself (okay..movie extra's who played hobbits..but it still counts).
LOL
It is indeed a bit weird that there's no patch download, I just spent a while looking around for it. So I gotta re-downlaod the 5.6 gb installer for the new version and whatnot, hmmm.

Yes, you need to redownload. The patch was so big that GOG didn't want to host it separately.
