Firstly, this would appear to be a fantastic game.
Voice acting is fabulous and the writing brilliant.

I'm only an hour or so in, having done several scenes with three of the characters. Brilliant system btw.

Anyway, I'm in the hospital posing as a maintenance guy, and in the conversation there's no option to state that "I'm the repairman" or whatever it needs to be. I have read in my phone what I need to do, but there's no option to do it.
Please don't tell me what I need to do, but can you let me know if this is a bug and there should be an option in the conversation?
I want to work it out for myself, but just want to clarify that it's not broken for some reason (I'm sure it's not, and that I'm just being stupid!)

Hi,

I am stuck in the same place... Except, I have no idea how I am meant to drag notes from my phone into my STM. There appears to be no obvious way to do this, the STM 'menu' doesn't appear when I'm viewing the phone, and I can't find anyway of clicking or dragging the text. Is this a bug? For a brief moment a message came up which said I could drag text from the phone into the STM, (I do not know why this message appeared as I can't seem to get it to appear again)... However I cannot work out how to do this, and there's no explanation on this in 'How to Play'.

So I'm stuck. Any help would be very much apprechiated!

Ok I worked out that dragging text from the phone into the STM isn't the answer, I just dragged the mainframe icon into the STM and selected it in conversation with the secretary. This seems to be the way to do it. Very confused by the note which appeared telling me that I could drag text from my phone into the STM, I suppose this comes into effect later in the game. Hope this helps for anyone stuck in the same place!

Could you send us a screenshot of this note? As far as I know, the game should never tell you to do that.

What do you mean by panel? The ventilation access?

No. I mean the panel on the right close to the door. I opened it and now I have to put the wires around the pins. And I do not know, how I to do that correctly.

My advice is to ignore the wire puzzle. It is literally the most difficult puzzle in the game, and it's totally optional. I can't even figure it out myself. :)

I figured out the panel puzzle. It was quite fun once I figured out how to narrow down the puzzle. Here's a hint: each pin has a certain amount of resistance associated with it. You can hook the wire to one pin to get the resistance, then add in additional pins to get the sum of the resistance. If you have too much resistance, none of the lights will show up on the bottom panel. Once you have the resistance of all 9 pins, find the combination that uses exactly enough to get the door open. (I'm not certain if it's worth more points than just moving the slab out front, or if both tasks give separate points.)

Hi. Sorry, my mistake. I believe I must have just completely mis-interpreted this message (shown in the screenshot), in my mind I assumed that I needed to drag the text from the phone, so I must have read this tip as meaning I could do that.

Completed the preview yesterday. I can't wait to recieve the full, boxed, game... :) Really blown away by this, absolutely love it.

As expected, it's awesome...but I'm stuck, too.

Got rid of the secretary, hacked the mainframe etc.
But, how do I get the goal "purpose of the mainframe"?
And what is a FTTN batch ? (English is my second language, sorry)

Hi there. When it comes to discovering the purpose of the mainframe, having done some digging Ray will give you a big hint when he wonders if his own DNA is stored on the database.

I don't know what FTTN means either, but it seems like some sort of internal index. Once you get an index or two from a sample, you can call it back up again with the FTTN.

It's also a sign of how well-made the game is, since there are two scientists you could learn the log-ins for. They both have their own passwords, which are the same on each playthrough but different from each other. The FTTNs are the same per person as well.

What?? No, it's the BEST puzzle I've played in a game in a long time. I just had to get pen and paper out to solve the wires. Totally amazing! Please, MORE! :D

Thanks Mejis! My favorite game in the whole world is Riven, so I've snuck in some really hard mechanical puzzles like this wire puzzle! I knew there would be some people out there who would love them!

But I also knew some people would not love them, so it is definitely optional. All but one of the really hard Riven-esque puzzles in the game is optional. I'm sure you'll be one of the players who will want to tackle them all! :)
