RESIDENT EVIL (1996) GOG better music quality.

I had music files, just changed db volume for all BGM files ~similar to PC version.

Mediafire:
RE1 (GOG) Music - Better Quality (Mono) v2024-06-26.rar 85mb
RE1 (GOG) Music - Better Quality (Stereo) v2024-06-26.rar 161mb

Installation:
Just place "USA" folder from .rar in "Resident Evil" root folder and overwrite.
Just relax and play.

Amazing, thank you! Any info on why there's both stereo and mono files? Which are original? And are they from the Japanese MediaKite release, or somewhere else?
This is from same "Raw" files I have is in Stereo (I don't know what source is, I have tons and tons of various Resident Evil games files for curiosity and modding purpose), just did volume adjustments and uploaded (Stereo), then did same files merged channels to mono (Mono). I did Mono for nostalgia purpose (I'm actually using Mono, instead of Stereo). Original RE1 game, and this GOG release have mono music tracks.

Thanks, that's good info!

Edit: I just checked the PSX release (DC: Dualshock Edition). The music is stereo in that version.

thanks, exactly what i was looking for
Please notify GOG about the audio issues. Not only they are low quality but the issue is it's so damn loud. And as far as i know there's no sliders to reduce the volume in-game.

thanks, there is a huge difference. Although maybe I'm wrong but i think there are still some noises in Guardhouse section, everything else is solid.

I'm pretty sure that the quality doesn't differ from the original release version.

Back in the days, audio was that compressed.
