I have been waiting for RE3 to drop to get the trilogy so finally picked the set up today and after some installing I was surprised to find this version of the first Resident Evil didn't come with any alternative versions (Such as with Director's Cut and Dual Shock versions) which was a little disappointing but not the end of the world especially sense it looks like RE2 does have arranged version to it. (Looks like RE3 does have a exit option, woo! It also comes with easy, hard , and mercenaries mode as well as a epilogue viewer?)

But I did notice that neither game had a very practical way to exit the game itself, I ended up alt+f4ing both RE1 and RE2, not having had a chance to check RE3 yet. Am I missing something? Like a 'exit game' option for example?

Also the music in RE1 seems to have a strange white noise about it like a sort of hissing that seems out of place, at least the background music playing on the first floor of the mansion.

You can use the F9 key to go back and exit without Alt+F4

Hmm! Well thats a start thanks, now If I can just figure out why the music has that weird scratchy sound to it (and only the music) i'll be set, although by the time I figure that out i'll probably have beat the game again. Autoaim plus squishier enemies makes it a bit too easy for a tank control vet.

The white noise in the soundtrack is as intended, it's just the compression used at the time of the original release.

Yeah that is unacceptable it didnt even sound that bad on my family's old tv back in the late 90s, using old compression unaltered is like forcing people to play at old 640x480 resolutions. Double so sense the only time that white noise appears is with background music, didn't even occur during the intro or ending songs.
