If you get the mod installed with the GOG versiob, one of the help files says it uses the Director's Cut camera angles. Is it also Director's Cut item placement etc.?

Just camera angles I believe. At least when I tried it thats all I got.

So when we play the Japanese version w/ Classic Rebirth + Seamless HD, we are still getting the GOG changes made for this version? ie. I've read that Jill is supposed to be even easier first time around in the GOG version.

Yes. Exactly the same changes.

But there is no change in the GOG version, this is just how the PC versions were apparently. I can't even remember my personal experience though.
