Just submitted a support ticket but figured I would do this too. I was able to install the first game just fine and play through the whole thing (along with every other game in my gog library) but the install button is greyed out for re2 and re3.

I saw some gog articles for other games saying to click "verify / repair" but that option is greyed out too. It also said another way is to place a registry file in the game's directory but obviously I can't do that if the game isn't installed. I saw another fix about disabling IPv6 and that didn't work, and another fix to just restart my pc and that didn't work either.

If anyone knows how to fix or work around this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Heyo! RE2 and 3 haven't been released yet, saadly. Those were kind of a pre-order. If you go to the product page on the GOG site, you can select "subscribe" to be notified when it's out! Hope that helps!
Oh wow, thanks lol, now i feel silly :P I figured with other people having this greyed out install button issue with other games, it might be the same issue with me.

Not sure why they would not just release all 3 games at the same time considering it's pretty much just the original games but I'm sure there's some reason why

Thank you!
Some people will step up here soon again, arguing that you are criticizing the merits of Early Access. ;)

Which is nonsense, of course. And, I agree, it would have been better to just release all 3 games, when the time is there. E.g., I thought Resident Evil 2 would be released soon, but, now it's already almost 1 1/2 months after the release of Resident Evil 1, and, somehow I run out of steam.

I know that game development takes time, but, again, maybe it would have been better to just release the games when they're done, not half a year before they are done.
I belive GOG will release Resident Evil 2 only in october, as a "greatest announcement" for Halloween. The same for Resident Evil 3, on Christmas. There's no other explanation. From what I know, RE2 was almost ready when they released the first one.

Oh, I'm definitely not complaining! When I said I wasn't sure why they wouldn't release all 3 games at once, I'm saying in a honest, confused way, not as a dig. Like I said, there must be a legitmate reason that they would do it this way, because it would be kinda silly if there wasn't.

But I agree about running out of steam lol. I'm getting older and I just don't have the "want" to play any game at any point anymore lol. I just finished the 1st one and I'm itching to play more classic RE rn but these itches fade fast :P

I you want to play more classic RE style gameplay there are modern games that may fit your desires, for example: Alisa...
https://www.gog.com/en/game/alisa
It's available almost everywhere even on consoles and has a very RE gameplay style...
Also, you can play vaccine and vaccine rebirth, Night of the scissors, still life 1 and 2 and post mortem, alone in the dark: the new nightmare. And those are some of what i remember, there are many more in other platforms too like vaccine or obscure 1 and 2 that you can play with the RE classic gameplay...

Why wait to sell a finished product tomorrow when you can make money on a promise today?
RE2 is out now :)
