I am, with the current version, unable to play the game. It reliably crashes when any "encounter"s load. I have submitted plenty of bug reports to the developer with lots of context. I'm hopeful a patch will resolve the issues. My machine is at the low end of the specs, so it may be related to that. It crashes even sooner if I didn't drop it to "low" graphics.

I do love what I see now. Great menus, good feel even before any encounters load. So I'm hopeful. I just wanted to mention this is an issue.

Hey mqstout, so sorry that the game is crashing for you at encounter startup. But thanks for sending along the crash reports. We're monitoring them throughout the day so that we can fix issues. In this case, where you're actually unable to play, it might be even better to send your log (abbeycore.txt in the game folder) to support@abbeygames.com with a small description of the problem.

Hi, I'm getting the same crash when an encounter kicks off - the encounter tries to load, gets to between 4% and 10% then crashes. I've tried changing the video settings, etc. but no change to the issue.
I've sent a copy of the latest log to your support address.

Please update your game either via Galaxy or the new installer we put up today as we've added version 190 of Renowned Explorers to everyone's accounts today :)

The issue was that my nVidia viideo card wasn't being used for this game, instead, it was using the default Intel chipset, which wasn't up to the job! Chaging the 3D setting in the nVidia software to force the executable to use the nVidia card sorted out the issue, and made the game run faster!
A thank you to Abbey Games support for pointing me in the right direction.

I'm getting this encounter crash as well. When I first got the game at launch date, it worked fine. I updated today through the website, and it started doing this encounter crash,.
I tried the Galaxy install, still crashes.

I have my Nvidia High Performance processor configured to the exe.
Using a Win7(64) laptop which runs this game fine before the updates.
Yes latest Nvidia drivers.

Trying to find my old gog DL so I can play this again.



EDIT: The latest update (Oct 23 2015) fixed it!
